Supporting the SWEP program
North East Water is committed to helping schools in north-east Victoria save water and reduce costs by fully funding their subscription and participation in the Schools Water Efficiency Program (SWEP).
This voluntary program provides schools with a water data logger, allowing them to continuously track their water usage via an interactive website. By monitoring their consumption, schools can quickly detect and fix leaks, leading to significant water and cost savings.
At the end of the 2023-24 financial year, total lifetime savings for the 61 active member schools in our region was 346 million litres of water at an estimated avoided cost of $787k.
