Mandatory Requirements
  • Candidates must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a foreign national with authorisation to work in Australia
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Successful applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment checks including a police check and/or pre-employment medical and functional testing where applicable.

 

The Data Analytics and Reporting Specialist drives and leads data analysis for North East Water to identify efficiencies and improvement opportunities in achieving our regulatory and business requirements.

This role is a full-time opportunity until mid-July 2025, including a monthly RDO and flexible work options.\

A snapshot of your day

  • Overseeing the shared Enterprise Data Warehouse and various databases and reporting tools, to enable efficient use.
  • Developing and adapting reporting according to requirements gathered from SMEs and regulatory agencies.
  • Leading the automation of manual data manipulation tasks.
  • Identifying and managing data quality issues.
  • Partnering with stakeholders in the scoping and development of solutions and reports to provide outcomes that meet performance and business needs.
  • Leading the analysis of our databases and identifying emerging trends and issues to inform solutions.
  • Responding to emerging business needs and undertaking analysis as required.

Key Selection Criteria

To be in consideration for this position please address in your application how you meet the following key selection criteria:

  1. Proficient in the use of common Microsoft SQL and database products, as well as the development of databases, tables, views, ETL’s, SQL scripts, queries, SQL jobs and integrations.

  2. Proficient in the use of Microsoft PowerBI and Microsoft SSRS and the creation and validation of reports and dashboards that are consumed by business stakeholders.

  3. Experience in working with, maintaining and integrating data from various systems, including bring data into an EDW via ETL processes. 

  4. Ability to analyse data quality as well as find and resolves issues in data and communicate any issues and recommendations with stakeholders.

  5. Experience working with stakeholders to scope requirements around reports and integrations to produce solutions that meet their needs.
