Sewer spill cleaned up in Tangambalanga

North East Water has cleaned up a sewage spill in Tangambalanga following a blocked sewer main on 28 July 2024.
The wastewater spilled from the main on Huon-Kiewa Road into a nearby unnamed creek on Kiewa East Road with the affected areas now cleaned and disinfected.
Water sampling and monitoring of the creek will continue over the next few days to understand any possible impacts to the waterway.
Signage has been erected in the vicinity as a precaution and we are advising people to avoid the area for the next few days.
The Environment Protection Authority has been notified of the spill.
