9 January 2020
Due to extreme fire danger forecast for Friday 9 January 2020, we are reminding residents within our fire affected communities to be mindful of town drinking water supplies when preparing properties for bushfires.
Our treatment plants are running at full capacity, but are design-limited in the volume of water that can be treated and pumped into towns.
If there is extreme usage, water pressure may drop or the supply may stop altogether. People need to conserve tap water as much as possible, so it’s available for when a fire front actually gets to the community and is needed the most.
We would like to remind customers over the summer months ahead, to consider an independent water supply with a non-electric pump as part of preparations to protect homes.
