Direct debit changes for Hume Bank customer

We have recently been notified that the Hume Bank has implemented a new national payment system which affects the way North East Water processes direct debits.

The new system means that all Hume Bank account numbers containing an “S, L or I”, or any other number substitution will no longer be accepted.  

If you are a Hume Bank customer that has set-up direct debit with North East Water, you will need to provide your External Account Number or your direct debit will be rejected.
